Pluspunten
Nowdays getting to the first pages of Google is of great importance. WordPress is very SEO friendly which allows you to set up keywords and good practices very easily. Its template ecosystem is huge and this allows you to build nice looking websites in days, not weeks.
From the user perspective, WordPress is quite easy to use, and the learning curve is quite plain.
Finally, there are plugins for a lot of common functionalities, so if you need something specific not included in WordPress core, there is nearly always a plugin that comes to the rescue.
Minpunten
WordPress is candy for hackers and you need to put special care into keeping it updated and secure. Fortunately, there are some plugins to help you with this.
Anybody can write a plugin and uploaded it to the marketplace. Some malicious people may use this to build a plugin with a backdoor. You need to put special care into installing 3rd party plugins to avoid this kind of security issue.

- The very thing that we like about WordPress is the fact that is is FREE and Open-Source. You cannot have one great deal with that.- It is easy to use. Gone are the days where you build your website from ground up - no any other options. If money is an issue, you do it yourself - learn to code. If money is not much of a concern - you hire designer and developer at once. WordPress just dust it off to a new level. And you know why and how!- WordPress has the most varied and numerous arsenal of plugins and extension that blur any competition. It almost got it all for you!- Support Community. Type a WordPress issue on Google and you will be very hard-pressed to not see any solution to your issue with the WordPress community on the top of the search.- Theme Builder, Theme, Plugin compatibility, support and integration. WordPress has the most affiliated third-party Theme Builder manufacturer. You bet on it, you will less likely to not be able to find the things that you need - Website building concerns.

- As always, WordPress native builder, though free, is still ugly. Riddled with User Experience Issues. It's confusing where and when the widgets appear when you need to add them.- Some of the affiliated theme/plugins are just so darn expensive. Use WooCommerce and a very simple functionality is at a hundred bucks at least. You'd be better off learning how to code PHP.- Lacks User Experience sentiments. WordPress needs to employ user experience to there website. It is still not user friendly even though it is a CMS-Based website builder.

It's a well-used software so there's tons of plug-ins and information out there. If something goes wrong you can find a solution with relative ease.

I don't like the standard design that is on WordPress. It has a lot of white space everywhere, so customization is key.
