It's also very easy to estimate recipes, and check your own work by scaling them up and down. The fact that so many common inventory items come pre-loaded into the system is a huge value add, and really lets you hit the ground running the first day entering in menus and recipes. We have over 600 inventory items, and it took a few hours one afternoon to add everything that was missing, using the import function. > > **Minpunten**: It's still pretty new, so some parts are missing and still in development, but I am really impressed with how many features have been added since I started using it 3 months ago. Parsley makes it really easy to plan, purchase, and produce all of our menus, eliminating hours and hours of admin. What else is great, being the chef and the owner, is that when I need to do ad hoc recipes, its very easy to estimate how to make a hotel pan of something, enter that recipe into parsley, and then check your work by scaling up to a 100 person batch (whoa, that's way too much garlic) and then down to a 6 pan (not enough mayo\!). We use Plans and Purchasing very often, as well as purchase orders and menu planning. It is easy to use, with a little studying and training, and they are constantly updating the software based on feedback. Great team and product overall. > > **Minpunten**: The only things I wish the software had was the ability to categorize subrecipes by station when they print out, so that they could be organized onto clipboards and assigned to specific team members. They way we currently have our production organized, it requires manual organization each week that is prone to errors. But this is not a huge deal as long as teams are trained and communicate effectively. It would also be great when adding items to a production plan, if the total number of items was tallied up at the end. (For example, if you know you're doing 1,000 meals, after you add all your numbers into the production plan, it would be great if at the end, it said "Items: 1,000" so you could verify the correct count is added. Other than that, not much negative to say\! > > Prior to using Parsley, I used ChefTec - I had a horrible experience. The software was prehistoric and the customer support was rude and almost non-existent. Upon switching to Parsley, I quickly saw how focused on user experience the \[SENSITIVE CONTENT\] was. The menu and purchasing sections are an absolute life-saver\! It takes about 1/4 of the time it used to take, which is huge when you work long hours especially. Another major plus is the fact that the service is fantastic. Too often these days, companies don't want to listen to their customers' feedback and products just don't get better. In the time that I've been using Parsley, I've received prompt responses in communication and they've even implemented some of my suggestions. There are regular updates as well as regular communication regarding new features, upcoming changes, and things of that sort.
